Abstract

This research focuses on reduplication in Tobelo language which is formulated in two problems statements, namely What Type of Reduplication Used and Whats is the Grammatical Function of Reduplication of Tobelo Language in Foya Tobaru Village. The method used in this research is a qualitative descriptive method, which goes 4 stages. Starting from data collection, data reduction, data analysis and drawing conclusions whis is the final stage to answer the problem statement. Data collection techniques are by observation and interviews. The result of the analysis show that the use of reduplication of Tobelo language, especially in Foya Tobaru village, only has two types of reduplication, namely partial reduplication and whole reduplication and has several functions that is to express many, to express activities that are carried out repeatedly, to describe more intensity, and has an alternative medium to naming which form a new classes of words and meanings. Kata kunci: Reduplikasi, Bahasa Tobelo
