Abstract
ABSTRACT Arina Umagapi. 2019. Reading Using Printing Media To Improving Students’ Vocabulary Mastery At The Second Years Students’ of SMP Negeri 5 Kota Ternate. English study Program Faculty of Teacher Training and Education. Advisor (1). Naniek Jusnita S.Pd., M.Pd, (2). Anwar Ismail S.Pd., M.Hum. The aims of this research is to know whether the reading textbook Improve students’ Vocabularies. The researcher used quantitative research method and pre – experimental design with one –group pretest and posttest. The instrument used was multiple choice consist of 30 items. The result of the research finding proved that teaching through reading textbook can improve students’ vocabulary at SMP Negeri 5 Kota Ternate. The posttest is higher (73) than pretest (51), t-test score (7,53) and t –table score (1,721) with degree of freedom (df): 29 or N -1 : 30 -1 = 29 and level of significant (p) 0.05is 1,721. It means that the posttest is higher than pretest (73 ≥ 51), and t –test is higher than t –table (7,53 ≥ 1,721). It means that alternative hypothesis (H1) is accepted and null hypothesis (H0) is rejected. Keywords: Reading, Printing Media, Improve Vocabulary.
