Formulation of the problem in this research is how to increase students' understanding of reading fiction texts using dediscerta for Class VIII students at Banau National Middle School, Ternate City. To what extent is students' understanding of reading fiction texts using dediscerta for Class VIII students at Banau National Middle School, Ternate City. The aim of the research is to find out how to describe the application of the dediscerta model in efforts to improve the reading comprehension ability of fiction texts in class VIII students of Banau National Middle School, Ternate City and to measure the increase in students' reading comprehension of fiction texts using dediscerta from Class VIII students of Banau National Middle School, Ternate City. The type of research used is Classroom Action Research (PTK) using a qualitative approach. This method is divided into two cycles with each cycle consisting of four aspects that must be implemented, namely planning, acting, observing and reflecting. The data analysis techniques used in this research are quantitative and qualitative. From the results of the analysis obtained, the application of the dediscerta method based on research results has been implemented well and can improve students' reading comprehension skills. This was proven by the changes after action was taken in cycle I, there were only three students who were still busy alone and less active in group activities. Then there was a significant increase in student learning activities in cycle II. All students were able to work on fiction text questions well and correctly. The dediscerta method has been proven to improve the reading comprehension skills of class VIII students at Banau National Middle School, Ternate City in Indonesian language subjects. This can be seen from the number of complete reading comprehension results on post-test questions in each cycle In pre-action, there were 8 students in the complete category with a percentage of 25% of the total number of students (33 students), then there was an increase in cycle I to 15 students with a percentage of 48%, then there was a significant increase in cycle II to 28 students with a percentage of 90% of the total number of students. .
