Abstract
Hayatunnufus A, 2024. The Use of ICARE Teaching Model to Improve Students' Writing Skill at SMA Negeri 5 Kota Ternate. English Language Education Study Program, Khairun University Advisor (I) Anwar Ismail, S.Pd., M.Hum, and advisor (II) Abdulhalim Daud, S.Pd., M.Pd This research aims to find out whether the use of the ICARE Teaching Model can significantly improve writing skills in class XI/4 students at SMA Negeri 5 Ternate City. This research uses quantitative methods with a pre-experimental one group pre-test posttest design. This research involved 20 students as samples. ICARE is used as a teaching model. The research results show that using the ICARE Teaching Model can significantly improve students' writing skills. The research results showed that the students' average score on the post-test was higher (86.5) compared to the pre-test score (53.9). The t test shows that the t statistical value (15.93) exceeds the table value (2.04) at a significance level of 0.05 and 20 degrees of freedom using a one-sided test. Therefore the null hypothesis (HO) is rejected and the alternative hypothesis (H1) is accepted. Therefore, it can be concluded that the ICARE Teaching Model is useful for improving students' writing skills. Keywords: Improve Writing Skills, ICARE
