Abstract

North Maluku Province is a province in Indonesia that has recently experienced expansion. In terms of building infrastructure, government service facilities are still quite lagging behind. This results in the need for efforts to be made to develop infrastructure in the province through the development of facilities and infrastructure so that it can support the running of government and services to the community. The aim of this design is to provide benefits to architectural education, government and society in general. Architectural design is an effort carried out in the world of construction to answer various demands for the development of social and community life, this is done solely to meet national and regional needs which enable the achievement of a certain goal, through an architectural design project initiated Design of a Literacy Building in Ternate City. provide an integrated facility to carry out productive and empowering activities for these literacy activities. With the construction of a literacy center in the city of Ternate, this facility is able to become a representative forum for the progress of the times and follows the development of literacy among the community. The design was carried out using a Post Modern Architecture approach. Where the building can accommodate literacy development activities for all groups while also being able to incorporate a flexible and dynamic building concept. The research method used in this design is using qualitative methods by prioritizing aspects of field observation and data analysis to produce an idea that is appropriate to the conditions existing at the design location.
