Abstract

Khairun University is one of the leading universities in Ternate which implements a development strategy in line with the paradigm, which contains the elements: autonomy, evaluation, accreditation and accountability. Apart from that, the development of Khairun University has long been adapted to the High Education Long Term Strategy, namely; increasing national competitiveness, organizational health, and decentralization/autonomy (Eliza, 2010). With the status of a public service agency, it provides flexibility in financial management. Apart from that, there are two flexibilities, namely human resource management and procurement of goods and services.Based on the vision as a research and development university, what is carried out will lead to an increase in the number of students as well as all university activities, both in the form of official/agency ties involving guests from outside the city of Ternate, such as lectures by inviting guest lecturers, scientific and academic visits such as seminars, anniversary celebrations. organized by universities or institutions, holding graduations involving students' parents, and so on. (http://unkhair.ac.id/).The design of this University Guest House uses a Modern Architectural approach which depicts simplicity. However, this does not eliminate the aesthetic impression and attractive modern appearance. The facilities in it are adapted to the needs of data obtained using quantitative methods, namely field observations, interviews, and references from trusted books and journals. From this description, Khairun University needs a guest house that is in accordance with all university activities as a result of development, as well as the vision and mission of Khairun University comfortably. Therefore, to overcome this problem is necessary planning and designingabout the Khairun University Guest House. Keywords: Guest House, Khairun University, Modern Architecture
