ABSTRAK Bakar, M.F (2024). 05181811017. Pemetaan Vegetasi Dan Estimasi Potensi Stok Karbon Hutan Mangrove di Pesisir Pantai Desa Daruba – Desa Pilowo, Kabupaten Pulau Morotai, Maluku Utara. Dibimbing Oleh Nurhalis Wahidin dan Halikuddin Umasangaji. Ekosistem mangrove di perairan pantai pulau-pulau kecil memegang peranan penting tidak hanya secara ekologis tetapi juga memainkan peran vital dalam issue pemanasan global. Hal ini disebabkan karena ekosistem ini memiliki kemampuan dalam menyerap CO2 lima kali lebih tinggi dibanding hutan hujan tropis. Namun demikian, hingga saat ini ekosistem mangrove di Pulau Morotai belum mendapatkan perhatian khusus terutama estimasi biomassa karbon. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk menganalisis kerapatan vegetasi mangrove dengan menggunakan data citra satelit Sentinel-2A serta mengestimasi potensi kandungan biomassa stok karbon pada batang (BAP) mangrove dengan menggunakan model persamaan allometrik hasil uji statistik. Manfaat penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan data dan informasi terkini mengenai kerapatan hutan mangrove serta jumlah biomassa stok karbon. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa luas hutan mangrove mencakup 878,23 ha dengan total estimasi stok karbon ground survey 2,38 – 12,07 ton/ha dan stok karbon dari data citra sebesar 6,80 – 8,96 ton/ha. Tingkat kerapatan mangrove dengan menggunakan data citra adalah 0,2- 0,6 dengan kategori kerapatan sedang (7,4%) sampai padat (92,5%) dan presentase tutupan kanopi ground survey 57,00±2,56 - 92,2±2,39 yang merupakan kategori tutupan sedang sampai padat. Kerapatan jenis pada ground survey pada kategori pohon, anakan dan semaian didominasi mangrove jenis Rhizophora apiculata dari 11 jenis mangrove yang ditemukan. Mangrove ecosystems in coastal waters of small islands play an important role not only ecologically but also play a vital role in the issue of global warming. This is because this ecosystem has the ability to absorb CO2 five times higher than tropical rainforests. However, until now, the mangrove ecosystem on Morotai Island has not received special attention, especially carbon biomass estimates. The purpose of this study is to analyze the density of mangrove vegetation using Sentinel-2A satellite image data and estimate the potential content of carbon stock biomass in mangrove trunks (BAP) using an allometric equation model from statistical tests. The benefits of this research are expected to provide the latest data and information on the density of mangrove forests and the amount of carbon stock biomass. The results of this study show that the area of mangrove forests covers 878,23 ha with a total estimated carbon stock of 2,38 – 12,07 tons/ha from the ground survey and carbon stocks from image data of 6,80 – 8,96 tons/ha. The density level of mangroves using image data was 0,2-0,6 with the category of medium density (7,4%) to dense (92,5%) and the percentage of canopy cover of the ground survey was 57,00±2,56 – 92,20±2,39 which is the category of medium to dense cover. The species density in the ground survey in the category of trees, saplings and seedlings was dominated by the Rhizophora apiculata mangrove type out of 11 types of mangroves found.
