Abstract

Sarwandi Sampulawa, 2024. Application of Gamification in Earthquake Learning for State Middle School 5 Students in Ternate City. Supervised by Dr. Saprudin, S.Pd., M.Pd as Supervisor I and Drs. Nurdin A. Rahman M.Pd as Supervisor II This research was carried out with the aim of: to explore the learning outcomes of class VII students at SMP Negeri 5 Ternate City who took part in learning by applying gamification to earthquake material. The method used in this research is the experimental method. This research uses a one group pretest-posttest design or single group pretest-posttest design. The results of the normality test and homogeneity test concluded that the pretest and posttest data were not normally distributed and the data distribution was homogeneous. Because the data is not normal, hypothesis testing is carried out using statistics or parametrics, namely using the Mann Whitney test. Based on the results of the Mann Whitney test, it was found that the significance value was 0.000, which was smaller than 0.05, meaning that there was a significant difference between the pretest and posttest data. The average N-gain in the experimental class is 0.87 (high). Based on this, it can be stated that the average N-gain for the experimental class is very high. Keywords: Gamification, Earthquak
