Abstract

ABSTRAK Karisma Mailla Putri, 2025. Analisis Kemampuan Pemahaman Konsep Matematis Dalam Menyelesaikan Soal Sistem Persamaan Linear Dua Variabel pada Siswa Kelas VIII SMP Nasional Banau Kota Ternate. Di bawah bimbingan Dr. Ardiana, S.Si., M.Si. dan Dr. H. In Hi. Abdullah, S.Pd., M.Si. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal sistem persamaan linear dua variabel. Subjek dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 20 siswa kelas VIII SMP Nasional Banau Kota Ternate. Adapun subjek yang dipilih adalah 6 siswa sebagai perwakilan dari masing-masing kategori kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa menggunakan teknik observasi, tes, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Instrumen tes yang digunakan adalah soal uraian yang berjumlah 3 butir soal yang telah divalidasi oleh ahli. Data yang dikumpulkan dianalisis secara kualitatif dengan cara reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa siswa kelas VIII SMP Nasional Banau Kota Ternate memiliki kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis yang berbeda dalam menyelesaikan soal sistem persamaan linear dua variabel yaitu tingkat tinggi, sedang dan rendah. Terdapat 2 siswa (10%) dengan kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis tingkat tinggi mampu menyatakan ulang sebuah konsep, memberikan contoh dan bukan contoh dari suatu konsep, menyajikan konsep dalam berbagai bentuk representasi matematis, dan mampu mengaplikasikan konsep atau algoritma pada pemecahan masalah secara lengkap dan benar, 14 siswa (70%) dengan kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis tingkat sedang mampu menyatakan ulang sebuah konsep, memberikan contoh dan bukan contoh dari suatu konsep, menyajikan konsep dalam berbagai bentuk representasi matematis, dan mampu mengaplikasikan konsep atau algoritma pada pemecahan masalah, namun belum lengkap, dan 4 siswa (20%) memiliki kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis tingkat rendah mampu memberikan contoh dan bukan contoh dari suatu konsep dan menyajikan konsep dalam berbagai bentuk representasi matematis. Analysis of the Ability to Understand Mathematical Concepts in Solving Problems on Systems of Linear Equations in Two Variables in Class VIII Students of Banau National Middle School, Ternate City. Under the guidance of Dr. Ardiana, S.Si., M.Si. and Dr. H. In Hi. Abdullah, S.Pd., M.Si. This study aims to describe the ability of students' mathematical concept understanding in solving problems of linear equation systems of two variables. The subjects in this study were 20 students of class VIII of SMP Nasional Banau, Ternate City. The subjects selected were 6 students as representatives of each category of students' mathematical concept understanding ability. Data collection techniques for students' mathematical concept understanding ability used observation, testing, interview, and documentation techniques. The test instrument used was descriptive questions totaling 3 questions that had been validated by experts. The data collected were analyzed qualitatively by means of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results showed that students of class VIII of SMP Nasional Banau, Ternate City had different mathematical concept understanding abilities in solving problems of linear equation systems of two variables, namely high, medium and low levels. There are 2 students (10%) with high-level mathematical concept understanding ability able to restate a concept, provide examples and non-examples of a concept, present concepts in various forms of mathematical representation, and able to apply concepts or algorithms to problem solving completely and correctly, 14 students (70%) with medium-level mathematical concept understanding ability able to restate a concept, provide examples and non-examples of a concept, present concepts in various forms of mathematical representation, and able to apply concepts or algorithms to problem solving, but not yet complete, and 4 students (20%) have low-level mathematical concept understanding ability able to provide examples and non-examples of a concept and present concepts in various forms of mathematical representation.
