Abstract

This research aims to find out the maintenance of Sula language in Fuata Village This type of research is descriptive qualitative research. The subjects in this research are the people of Fuata Village in the groups of parents, teenagers and children. Data collection techniques in this study used observation techniques and interview techniques. Data analysis techniques by collecting and presenting data with categorisation, interpretation, and conclusions. The results showed that there was a preservation of the Sula language by the parents group in their daily life both by the Sula tribe and the Buton tribe always using the Sula language in interacting with each other, this shows that its use is not limited to certain tribes but applies to all existing tribes. Sula language preservation also occurs in the teenage group where language builders in communicating in the association between teenagers will find the use of Sula language in their daily lives, both teenagers from the Sula and Buton tribes when a conversation occurs, the language used is Sula language, this shows the preservation of Sula language that occurs in the teenage group. The situation of the use of Sula language by children can be seen in the household scene and in the garden scene where in the household realm between children and mothers use Sula language by looking at these speakers can show the maintenance of Sula language in Fuata Village both parents, adolescents and children are still very strong.
