Abstract

ABSTRAK Latar Belakang: Krim body scrub adalah sediaan yang dapat menghaluskan kulit dengan cara mengangkat sel kulit mati dengan bantuan scrub. Bahan scrub ini dapat dimanfaatkan dari limbah cangkang biji pala yang merupakan salah satu tanaman khas Maluku Utara. Cangkang biji pala memiliki kandungan antioksidan. Cangkang biji pala dapat dikombinasi dengan beras putih dan kunyit putih karena mengandung senyawa antioksidan. Untuk mengetahui sediaan ini aman maka dilakukan uji karakteristik fisik sediaan krim body scrub untuk menjamin sediaan yang aman digunakan, sehingga tidak menyebabkan iritasi pada kulit. Tujuan: Untuk mengetahui karakteristik fisik sediaan krim body scrub serbuk cangkang biji pala (Myristica fragrans Houtt). Metode: Jenis penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimental. Cangkang biji pala (Myristica fragrans Houtt) dilakukan penyiapan sampel hingga didapatkan serbuk halus yang kemudian diayak dengan ayakan 44 mesh. Selanjutnya diformulasi menjadi sediaan krim body scrub dengan konsentrasi FI (5%), FII (10%), dan FIII (15%) dan dilakukan uji karakteristik fisik sediaan meliputi uji organoleptis, uji homogenitas, uji pengukuran pH, uji viskositas, uji tipe emulsi, uji daya lekat, uji daya sebar dan uji hedonik. Hasil: Berdasarkan hasil penelitian didapatkan bahwa serbuk cangkang biji pala dapat dijadikan zat aktif untuk sediaan krim body scrub dengan menghasilkan warna cokelat, bentuk semi padat dan memiliki aroma khas cangkang biji pala bentuk semi padat dan homogen. Hasil dari uji pH yang di peroleh yaitu (6,53 6,55). Sediaan ini masuk dalam tipe emulsi M/A. Nilai viskositasnya yaitu rentang dari (19.526-19.733 cps). Hasil uji daya lekat yaitu (10,03-36,07). untuk daya sebar yaitu (5-7 cm). Untuk formula 1 menjadi formula yang paling baik. Kesimpulan: Serbuk cangkang biji pala dapat diformulasi menjadi suatu sediaan krim body scrub dengan karakteristik yang baik dan memenuhi syarat. FORMULATION AND TEST OF CREAM CHARACTERISTICS BODY SCRUB FROM NUTMEG SHELLS (Myristica fragrans Houtt) Gustina Aulia Putri1, Marisca Febrianty 1, Mutmainnah1 1Department of Pharmacy, Faculty of Medicine, Khairun University ABSTRACT Introduction: Body scrub cream is a preparation that can smooth the skin by removing dead skin cells with the help of scrubs. This scrub material can be utilized from nutmeg shell waste which is one of the typical plants of North Maluku. Nutmeg seed shells have antioxidant content. Nutmeg seed shells can be combined with white rice and white turmeric because they contain antioxidant compounds. To find out that this preparation is safe, the physical characteristics of the body scrub cream preparation are tested to ensure that the preparation is safe to use, so that it does not cause irritation to the skin. Aim: To determine the physical characteristics of body scrub cream preparations from nutmeg shell powder (Myristica fragrans Houtt). Methods: This type of research is experimental research. Nutmeg shells (Myristica fragrans Houtt), white rice (Oryza sativa, L.), and white turmeric (Curcuma zedoaria Rosc.) were sample prepared until a fine powder was obtained which was then sieved with a 44 mesh sieve. Next, it is formulated into a body scrub cream preparation with concentrations of FI (5%), FII (10%), and FIII (15%) and the physical characteristics of the preparation are tested including organoleptic test, homogeneity test, pH measurement test, viscosity test, emulsion type test. , stickiness test, spreadability test and hedonic test. Results: Based on the results of the study, it was found that nutmeg seed shell powder, white rice and white turmeric can be used as active substances for body scrub cream preparations by producing brown color, semi-solid form and has a distinctive aroma of nutmeg seed shells in semi-solid and homogeneous form. The results of the pH test obtained are (6.53-6.55) where all meet the pH requirements. This preparation is included in the M / A emulsion type. The viscosity value ranges from (19,526-19,733 cps). The results of the adhesion test are (10.03-36.07). for spreadability, namely (5-7 cm). For formula 1 to be the best formula.
