Abstract
This research is entitled "Analysis of Deixis in the Film Knives Out Mystery (Pragmatic Study)". There are 5 types of deixis, namely: person deixis (first person, second person, and third person), place deixis, time deixis, discourse deixis, and social deixis). The objectives of the research is to identify and classify deixis forms and then analyze how deixis forms are used in the film Knives Out Mystery by Rian Johnson. In this research, researcher used a qualitative descriptive method. Data collection techniques used in the form of watching film, documentation, audio visual. The data that has been identified and classified is then analyzed according to Levinson's theory to obtain types of deixis, meaning of deixis and how deixis is used gesturally and symbolically in the film Knives Out. The results of the research show that there are five types of deixis found in the film Knives Out by Rian Johnson, namely persona deixis (first person: me, me, mine, and second person: you and you, and third person: me, me, mine, and second person: you and you, and third person: we, he, and his), place deixis: house, here, castle, and kitchen, time deixis: now, when, week, today, and tomorrow, discourse deixis : that and this, and social deixis, which is (Mr, Ms, and Detective).
