Abstract

Shella shintya safira ismail. 2024. Semiotic Analysis In The Novel “Alice in The Wonderland” (Viewed from Roland Barthes Semiotic Theory) (supervised by Sutisno Adam and Ismail Maulud) This research aims to describe the denotative, conotative, and myth in the novel alice in the wonderland by Lewis Carroll. First, the researcher identify the interpretation of denotative, connotative and myth in the novel "Alice in the Wonderland" through quotes that are found in the novel. Method that the researcher used in this research is Qualitative Method and Descriptive Analysis Method. The quotations from the novel alice in the wonderland are use in this research to help support the analysis of this research. reading comprehension, noted taking, and internet browsing are the techniques use in this research. and for data analysis techniques, the researcher use classification, interpretation, explanation and conclusion. While identify this novel the researcher using semiotic analysis theory to support this script. The result of this research shows that there are nine qoutes that include each interpretation of denotative, connotative, and myth that are found in the the novel Alice In The Wonderland. Keywords: myth, denotative, conotative, novel alice in wonderland, and semiotic theory.
