Abstract
The purpose of this research is to know students’ self-talk strategy in speaking at third semester students of English Language Education Study Program. This research used qualitative method. The respondent of this reserach are students of English Language Education Study Program. The data collecting techniques used were questionnaire and interview. The result of this research showed that the students always used self-talk strategy in helping them to speak. It showed that 29% students from 40 students choosed self-talk strategy, the second is students often used self-talk strategy which obtained score 25% from 40 students, the third usully which obtained score 24% from 40 students and students choosed seldom which obtained score 12% from 40 students and the last students choosed never with obtained score 10% from 40 students
