Abstract

This research aims to find students’ attitude of young learners in learning English at SMP NEGERI 6 KOTA TERNATE. This was qualitative research using questioner to collect the data, the subject was 26 students and 30 questions . From the data analysis of young learners' attitudes toward learning english showed that learners mostly exhibited : 4 categories attitudes toward learning english support the idea that young learners' 12 questions, positive (46.15%) and negative (3.84%) related to Attitudes are affected by the teacher. 2 questions, positive (30.76%) and negative (3.84%) related to Favorable teaching conditions. 1 questions, positive (23.07%) and negative (3.84%) related to Positive attitudes towards the learning context and the teacher. and 18 questions, positive (50.%) and negative (3.84%) related to Motivation. because they Most studies focusing on young learners' attitudes suggest that they generally adopt attitudes of their parents, friends, and teachers.
