Abstract

This study aims to determine kinds of media used by teacher in teaching at SMP Negeri 2 Kota Ternate. This study used qualitative research. The subject involves in this research were three English teacher in first grade at SMP Negeri 2 Kota Ternate. The instrument used were observasion and interview. The data analysis shows that of the three kinds of media only two kinds of media are used by teachers, namely audio media in the form of handphone and audiovisual media in the form of LCD. The use of these kinds of media can improve students' understanding of learning and facilitate teachers in teaching. Keywords : Using of media, Language teaching, and Learnig.
