Abstract

This research aims to know the sixth semester students’ difficulties in writing composition at English Language Education Study Program of Khairun University, The researcher applied qualitative method and analyzed the data by using content analysis. Fifteen respondents involved in this research using writing test instrument and all the respondents were given 90 minutes to complete the instrument. The result of this research shows that all respondents obtained good score. Five aspects analyzed in this research are content, organization, grammar, vocabulary, and mechanics. Content and grammar aspects were the difficult aspects that obtained the total scores 2.7, vocabulary and mechanics were the second and the third difficult aspects, because the students obtained total scores 2.8 and 2.9. Meanwhile, organization is the easiest aspect in writing composition because the students obtained total scores 3.1. The mean score from all aspects were 71.53 is categorized as the sufficient.
