Abstract

The objective of the research is to know the extent to which Use of picture in Improves Students’ Writing Procedure Text At The first class of SMA Negeri 3 Kota Ternate. This research used quantitative research method by Using pre-experimental design. Twenty five respondents from second year SMA Negeri 3 Kota Ternate participated in this research. The use of picture is evidently effective in improving students’ Writing Procedure text. This is indicated that the posttest average score (86) is higher than pretest average score (43). The t-test indicates that the t-statistical value (10.02) exceeds t-critical value (1,711) at the level of significance 0,05 and the degree of freedom of 24 using one tailed test. Therefore the alternative hypothesis (Hi) stating that picture significantly improves students Writing of procedure text at second year at SMA Negeri 3 Kota Ternate is accepted and the null hypothesis (Ho) stating that picture does not significantly improve students’ Writing of procedure text at SMA Negeri 3 Kota Ternate is rejected.
