Abstract
The objective of this research is to find out the students’ Reading Comprehension of Narrative Text at MAN 1 Kota Ternate, Specially Class X (one). This research using descriptive qualitative with percentage formula. The numbers of respondents in this research were 24 students at the class X (one). The researcher gave a multiple choice test consist of 10 number of the items. Based on the analysis of the data indicated that students of class X (one) have sufficient reading comprehension of narrative text (66.25) sufficient. In this study . 2 (two) students obtained very poor qualifications (00-39) or 8%. Furthermore, 3 (three) students obtained a score of poor qualifications (40-50) or 12% and 10 (ten) students obtained sufficient qualification score (60-70) or 41% and 6 (six) students' obtained good qualification (80-89) or 25% and 3 (three) students obtained score very good qualification (90) or 12%. It means that students understanding about reading comprehending of narrative text is sufficient. So, It shows that the students class X (IPS) of MAN 1 Kota Ternate have sufficient competence in reading comprehension of narrative text. Keywords: Competence, Reading comprehension, Narrative Text.
