Nurhasna Buamona, 2024. Teachers’ Strategy in Teaching Vocabulary at SMA NEGERI 4 Kota Ternate. A Thesis from the English Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Khairun University. Supervisor (1) Hamida A. Jasin, S.Pd., M.Pd.Bi, Supervisor (II) Susana R. Bahara, S.Pd., M.Pd.Bi. This study aims to determine the teacher's strategy in teaching English vocabulary at SMA Negeri 4 Ternate City. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method. The subjects of this study were four English teachers at SMA Negeri 4 Ternate City. The instruments used were observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis techniques used data reduction, data display, and conclusions. The results of this study indicate that four English teachers at SMA 4 Ternate City use many strategies to teach. There are several strategies mentioned in the interview results, namely, line games strategy, songs strategy, memorization strategy, and guessing the context strategy that is commonly used in the vocabulary learning process. From several strategies used by English teachers at SMA Negeri 4 Ternate City, it can be concluded that strategies can make students more active and motivated in following the teaching and learning process in class, especially in vocabulary learning.
